The
farmhouse lies down the "Via Francigena"
the main pilgrims route linking Rome with Calais, the first known
European road of Middle Age,
where today is possible to met pilgrims as in the far past: Sigeric,
archbishop of Canterbury, passed here in 996 A.C., travelling
towards Rome. The mediaeval towers of San Gimignano are
only 6 km away; the same distance for the small walled town of Certaldo
Alto,
built in red
bricks and perfectly preserved, once home to Boccaccio, the
poet and writer author of "Decameron".
In Certaldo you can park your
car (free parking) near the railway
station and to travel to Florence or Siena by
train (1 hour).

km.) - Lucca (80 km) - coast Livorno (85
km) - Volterra (33 Km), Bologna (150 km).

and French and
will provide you with good and straight tips; if you wish they
can book for you visits in the main Art Galleries (Uffizi,
Accademia, Pitti,
etc..), to book a restaurant, etc..
The next restaurant and
bar is approx. 1 km away and you could walk there.
If you like
sports you can get tennis at 6 km, Riding
stable at
10 km, Golf course at 25 km and you can walk
on the signed trekking trails that pass
here, the same with mountain bike (you are on the cycle-way
EV5 linking Massa - Lucca - San Miniato - Siena).
